Self

I have lived
Enough days to fill a book.
The blood, the sweat
The love and the tears,
It is all there.

Moving pieces,
Remind me I have to wait
For someone, for something more
But I do not know what I wait for.

I miss the days
I have yet to live
And this unstoppable force. Although
I do not know all the things I miss.

I am the lives
And the changes I reflect.
I have learnt to forgive
And I am all that is left.

I have shed the layers
Of doubt and worry;
As I welcome the future, relieved,
I do not need to know.

I breathe new truths
That calm the mind.
The voice that shouts: you have one go,
And this is your lifetime.

Lovely - a lyrically understated affirmation of truth and acceptance.

Janete, my life has been in transition. Both good and not so good. The last stanza of this poem speaks to me as a trusted friend. It feels like the whisper I need. I just need it whispered relentlessly, writ is stone, not water. :-)

Glad to see you are back Tre'e and doing well :)

Cool poem, I also miss the things that I have yet to know, it's as if they will never really come, though surely those meant to will, it's their imminent passing that does it. Does that make sense? It's strange to assess the future when it hasn't even happened. Though it's much too easy to loose oneself in an imaginary world where it's always the way you want it to be. Once again, I would have to ask you to kindly vacate from the crevices in my head. Keep it up.

Epic! I just love it! Could I feature you on my blog? I've recently started featuring writers and authors alike on my blog due mainly to the fact that I myself was an aspiring teen writer. The first author I've ever featured was "Shiloh Darke", creator of "The Order of Eternals" series. To view the interview, visit http://crystalbutterflyquill.blogspot.com

Beautiful...

A sensitive and complex reflection.

It's easy for me to relate to this poem as I often find myself trying to make my 'self' into something else.

I love your writings. You give words to feelings so easily... It's lovely to read.

Keep up the FAB work!

:)
